The Olde English Bulldogge, a relatively new and rare breed, was developed through the crossing of half English Bulldog, and the rest, Bullmastiff, Staffordshire Bull Terrier and American Bulldog.
This was born of a desire to leave the less desirable traits of breathing and health problems of the modern English Bulldog, and to create a dog that harkened back to its healthier ancestors.
The goal was to create a cross between the appearance of the 18th century bulldog (now extinct) and the loving temperament and personality of an English Bulldog without all the health issues.
The Olde English Bulldogge is a medium sized dog.
Males typically measure 17 to 20 inches in height and 60 to 80 pounds. Females measure 16 to 19 inches in height, weighing in at between 50 and 70 pounds.
The Olde English Bulldogge can also live in many varied conditions and adapts well to its environment & cumstances.
Owners should take care though, to protect them from extreme ranges of cold and heat.
Also, over eating can cause bloat so smaller meals more often is always best.
Although intimidating in apperience this is a friendly and agile dog breed, bred to work in various applications.
Their animated and expressive features make for a friendly and accommodating dog that's great as a companion for both young & old alike.
The life expectancy of the Olde English Bulldogge is about 12 years. This breed is also known as the Leavitt Bulldog after the person who created it.
By doing some research, Leavett soon realized based on ancient paintings and engravings, that the English bulldog of today had little left from his ancestors, and following a breeding program developed by the University of Ohio, he decided to recreate the original English bulldog that existed at the 17-18th century England.
Thus was created the Olde English Bulldogge AKA the Leavitt Bulldogge.

The Olde English Bulldogge is affectionate, uncomplicated, gentle, intelligent, sensitive, and fearless when defending owner and property.
The Olde English Bulldogge is known for its loyalty; its happy-go-lucky attitude is in sharp contrast to its sour face.
Olde English Bulldogges are happiest at their owners side but can misbehave if ignored.
Olde English Bulldogges are active, alert, and playful, but not overly boisterous.

Olde English Bulldogges enjoy mixing with other dogs and household pets. They are great with children, well behaved, adaptable, comfortable companions with an affectionate nature and even disposition.
Olde English Bulldogges can be cautious with strangers & make great watch dogs, but are friendly to everyone when properly socialized.
